Description
These flavorful taco pinwheels combine creamy cheese, taco seasoning, olives, and green chilies inside soft tortillas. They make a quick party appetizer snack and taste great with guacamole or sour cream.
Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) blocks cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 (1 1/4 ounce) packet taco seasoning
- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped black olives, drained
- 1 cup shredded Colby Jack or cheddar cheese
- 10–12 large flour tortillas
Instructions
- Beat the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl until smooth and lump free
- Add sour cream and taco seasoning and mix until well combined
- Dice the drained green chilies and black olives and add them to the bowl along with the shredded cheese
- Mix everything until the ingredients are evenly coated with the cream cheese mixture
- Spread the filling evenly over the tortillas leaving about a half inch border around the edges
- Roll the tortillas tightly into logs
- Wrap the tortilla logs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours
- Remove the plastic wrap and slice each roll into 1 inch thick pinwheels
- Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and serve with sour cream or guacamole
Notes
- Add chopped jalapeños for extra spice
- Mix in diced tomatoes or fresh cilantro for extra freshness
- Use spinach or sun dried tomato tortillas for colorful pinwheels
- Prepare the rolls ahead and slice just before serving for the best presentation
