Description
Peach Cobbler Egg Rolls combine juicy cinnamon peaches with crisp golden egg roll wrappers for a fun handheld dessert. These sweet egg rolls taste like warm peach cobbler wrapped in a crunchy shell and served with a creamy vanilla dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chopped peaches, fresh, frozen, or canned
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 4 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 10 egg roll wrappers
- 2 tablespoons water, for sealing
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, optional for dusting
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar, for vanilla dipping sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
- 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Add chopped peaches, lemon juice, butter, brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon to a small saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat while stirring until the mixture starts to bubble.
- Lower the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the peach filling thickens.
- Stir in vanilla extract, then remove the pan from the heat.
- Let the peach filling cool fully before assembling the egg rolls.
- Place one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you.
- Brush the wrapper edges lightly with water.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cooled peach filling into the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in both sides, and roll tightly.
- Seal the final edge with water, then repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat vegetable oil to 350°F in a deep skillet or heavy pot.
- Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crisp, turning as needed.
- Transfer the fried egg rolls to paper towels and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, milk, and salt in a small bowl until smooth to make the dipping sauce.
- Dust the warm egg rolls with powdered sugar and serve with vanilla dipping sauce.
Notes
- Cool the peach filling before wrapping so the egg roll wrappers do not soften or tear.
- Do not overfill the wrappers because too much filling can leak during cooking.
- Thaw and drain frozen peaches before cooking the filling.
- Drain canned peaches before cooking the filling.
- For air fryer cooking, brush or spray the rolls lightly with oil and cook at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes, turning halfway through.
- Serve the egg rolls warm for the best crisp texture and soft peach filling.
