Description
This Lasagna Casserole combines all the comforting flavors of traditional lasagna in an easy casserole recipe. Ground beef, rotini pasta, cottage cheese, pasta sauce, and mozzarella come together in just 35 minutes for a delicious family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 large sweet onion, diced
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 24-ounce jar pasta sauce
- 2 cups rotini pasta
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Brown the hamburger with the diced onion. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the rotini until al dente according to the package directions.
- Stir the cottage cheese into the beef mixture.
- Add the pasta sauce and mix well.
- Fold the cooked rotini into the sauce mixture.
- Spoon everything into a greased 10 x 15-inch casserole dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the top.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Cook the pasta only until al dente.
- Freeze for up to 3 months.
- Add mushrooms, spinach, or Italian sausage for easy variations.
- Fresh parsley and Parmesan make excellent garnishes.
