Ingredients
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
14 oz caramel squares
⅓ cup heavy cream
½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt separately, then combine with wet ingredients.
4. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
5. Spread half the dough into the pan and bake for 8–10 minutes.
6. Melt caramel squares with cream until smooth. Pour over baked layer.
7. Top with remaining dough and bake 20–25 minutes until golden.
8. Cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Freeze up to 3 months for long-term storage.
Serve warm with ice cream for extra indulgence.
