Description
Classic Farm Fresh Peach Cobbler made with juicy peaches, warm spices, and a buttery golden crust. This easy homemade dessert is perfect for family gatherings, holidays, picnics, or a cozy treat any time of year.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh sliced peaches, or one 29-ounce can sliced peaches, drained
- 1 cup Bisquick All Purpose Mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In an 8 x 8 baking dish, stir Bisquick mix, milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon together until thoroughly mixed.
- Stir in the melted butter until combined.
- In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the sugar and peaches.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the cobbler crust.
- Bake for 60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the peach filling bubbles around the edges.
- Let the cobbler rest for several minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or enjoy it plain.
Notes
- All-purpose flour may be used instead of Bisquick, but Bisquick gives the best flavor and texture for this recipe.
- Adding sugar to the peaches is optional. If the peaches are very ripe or packed in heavy syrup, reduce or omit the sugar.
- Fresh peaches give the best seasonal flavor, but canned peaches work well during cooler months.
- Drain canned peaches thoroughly before using.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a classic dessert pairing.
- Leftovers may be refrigerated for up to 4 days.
- Freeze cooled cobbler for up to 3 months, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
