Description

Creamy Ranch Chicken features juicy pan-fried chicken breasts served in a rich, creamy ranch sauce made with garlic, butter, sour cream, and ranch seasoning. This easy one-skillet recipe comes together in just 25 minutes, making it a perfect weeknight family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs or Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1½ tablespoons butter, for cooking chicken
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon butter, for sauce
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1½ tablespoons ranch seasoning

Instructions

  1. Slice each chicken breast horizontally to make two thin cutlets.
  2. Mix garlic powder, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper. Season both sides of the chicken.
  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked.
  5. Remove the chicken from the skillet and keep it covered.
  6. Melt butter in the same skillet and sauté the minced garlic for 30 seconds.
  7. Stir in the flour and cook for another 30 seconds.
  8. Slowly whisk in the chicken stock until smooth.
  9. Reduce the heat and stir in the sour cream and ranch seasoning until creamy.
  10. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top.
  11. Simmer for 1–2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Use freshly minced garlic for the best flavor.
  2. Italian seasoning works well if mixed herbs are unavailable.
  3. Do not boil the sauce after adding the sour cream.
  4. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
  5. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
