Description

Soft, chewy snickerdoodles with warm cinnamon and sweet vanilla flavor. Ready in 25 minutes for the perfect homemade treat.


Ingredients

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cream of tartar

2 tsp ground cinnamon (plus extra for rolling)

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

1 tsp pure vanilla extract


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and cinnamon.

3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.

4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.

5. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.

6. Chill dough for 30 minutes.

7. Scoop dough into 1–2 inch balls, roll in cinnamon sugar.

8. Bake 8–10 minutes, until golden at edges.

9. Cool on tray, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

Chill dough to prevent spreading.

Add chocolate chips or nuts for variation.

Store cookies in airtight container for up to 1 week.
